What accounting software did you start with, and what are you on now? Looking for lessons learned
Working with a small equipment rental business (B2B, customers are mostly contractors) and need to lock in bookkeeping before invoices go out. Would love to hear from people who've been through this. We're looking at Wave, Quickbooks & Zoho Books. Our needs are very basicredactedTrack revenue and expenses (2) Sending invoices and accepting payment (card + ACH) (3) Handle sales tax properly to make the quarterly return easy (4) Bank feeds from my business checking and credit card [Nice to have]. Granted every platform has their pros and cons. My instinct is to start on QuickBooks now rather than migrate in a year, but I'm curious to hear how others approached this early on. For those of you who have gone down this road: - What'd you start with and what are you on now? If you switched, was it a nightmare? - Anything you wish you'd set up differently from the start? - Anyone dealing with sales tax in more than one area? Did the software actually help, or are you still living in spreadsheets? - How do you deal with card fees on bigger invoices? Push people to ACH/check or just eat it?
