I’d be interested to hear your reasoning and any recent experiences that influenced your choice. Please note, we don't have SBA option for funding in the UK.

Hey ^redacted‌ I have a Searcher in my peer group that's in the UK. The way she approaches valuation is much like US-based Searchers. Typically starts with a market multiple of Adjusted EBTIDA or SDE, then refining that based on individual financial requirements (financing structure, DSCR, cash flow, return targets like IRR and MOIC, etc).

Working backwards to an offer that makes sense in light of the future cash flows generated by the business (forecast) is the best method. Hard and fast rules around multiples are always a challenge when dealing with SMEs since they are all so different.
