Hi All,

I am in the midst of my self funded search and will need some excess capital to do a deal in my target range. When is the right time to engage potential outside investors? Is pre-LOI too soon or is it more advantageous to act sooner rather than later?

Thanks!

Connecting with investors or any other type of prospect is more of an art than a science. In my experience it's better to connect earlier than later Because you're going to have to speak with a lot more people than you think and then narrow it down to a small percentage. That takes time. Also, be sure to work with only those people that have the same values as you or it's going to be bumpy road. I learned that the hard way..!
