The holding company I represent chases a slightly largely deal I imagine than most searchers ($4MM to $10MM EBITDA) but we all have the same desire to find proprietary or direct investment opportunities. Beyond relying on the referral network we would like to scale our marketing activities to find relevant founder run businesses considering an exit. We need tech. We are down to ZoomInfo and SourceScrub. Cost is not an issue. Both are comparable. SS claims to generate bigger lists of hard to find companies; ZI claims to find better contact information as well as do a better job managing an engagement and marketing campaign and provide unique seller insights based on digital behavior. SS does some of this too but it strikes me as a more manual process with less insights. What do you guys think? ZI or SS?

Agree with Tim that Zoominfo and SourceScrub serve different purposes. SourceScrub is for generating lists of companies based on industry or getting a list of companies that are similar to another company. (And the tradeshow functionality is great.)

Zoominfo is contact enrichment. Once you have a list of companies from SS that match your criteria, the coverage on email address, company address, etc. might be spotty. Zoominfo closes those gaps.

FWIW, I think Grata is better than SourceScrub if you're looking to generate company lists.

When I've looked at/used these tools in the past, I found each of them best for different things. I thought ZoomInfo was better at helping ID contact information at companies you want to target. SourceScrub was best for processing tradeshow attendee lists if you do a lot of events. Cyndx and Grata were both better for thematic searching and company identification. I think it depends on the problem you are trying to solve.
